Just So You Know

Federated Sportsmen’s Clubs of Ulster County Trap League (aka Federation Trap League) is accepting registrations at fscuc.org/trap . You must be a member of one of the FSCUC clubs to participate, (Wawarsing is a member club). There will be 10 matches over the summer. The first will be May 9 at the Wittenberg Sportsmens Club. Two matches later this summer will be hosted at Wawarsing. Details, match rules and the full schedule will be posted at wrg.club/trap in the coming weeks.

Last call for dues! If you have not paid your 2026 dues by March 30, you will be dropped from the membership rolls.

Attention - No center fire firearms are allowed on the rim fire/archery range (the range with the concrete tower). This is to limit the noise to our neighbors.

Members are asked to pick up all fired shotgun hulls from the trap & skeet ranges and not to put any target throwers directly on top of the trap houses.

Roundup

Changing of the guard! After nearly 50 years of cooking (predominantly the March Corned Beef and the November Turkey dinners) The Wawarsing Rod and Gun Club would like to thank Paul Lonstein (and his father, the late Marty Lonstein) for cooking at our dinner meetings for probably close to 50 years. Paul has officially retired from the kitchen. We thank him for his decades of dedicated service....Thanks Paul!

We have member mentors that are NRA certified in multiple disciplines. These members are willing to make themselves available for other members that want to brush up on marksmanship, safety or any other area you wish to learn or improve. This is a great opportunity for both new and seasoned shooters. Inquire or make a request at wrg.club/contact (select Member Mentor Program)

Remember - Pistol permits need to be recertified every 3 years. Information on the recertification is at https://firearms.troopers.ny.gov/pprecert/welcome.faces. You can check your registration status at https://gunsafety.ny.gov/pistol-permit-recertification.

Importance Notice – non-members may not discharge firearms on the club property without completing an insurance Waiver, Release and Assumption of Risk Agreement.
This will affect all shooting events to include Trap Shoots, Skeet shoots, 22 bench rest matches, IR 50/50 matches, hunter training classes (both rifle & bow courses), sight-in day and any non-member guests on the ranges. A supply of the waivers will be available at the 200-yard range building for guest shooters.
Any member who allows a guest to shoot on the ranges without first completing the waiver may face revocation or suspension of their membership.

REMINDER – All members are required to display their membership card when using the club ranges. If you do not display your card, then do not get angry when another member asks if you are a member. We have too many trespassers not to check for cards.
