Safety on the range and grounds in general is of the utmost importance
BE AWARE OF YOUR OWN ACTIONS AND THOSE AROUND YOU!
Always point the muzzle in a safe direction.
Keep finger off trigger until ready to shoot.
Don't load your firearm until on the firing line and ready to shoot.
Don't handle a firearm when anyone is downrange.
Don't move beyond the firing line until a "cease fire" has been called and the range is confirmed by everyone to be "cold"!
Always wear hearing and eye protection.
Always ensure others on the firing line are ready for the line to go "hot" and have ample time to get their hearing and eye protection in place.
Do not break the 180' from directly downrange (90' left to 90' right) when firing.
No EXPLOSIVE targets are allowed on ANY range
Everyone has the responsibility to immediately call for a “cease-fire” whenever any unsafe activity is observed or suspected.
Range commands:
Cease fire – Immediately unload and bench all firearms.
Range “Cold” – Do not touch a firearm. OK to go downrange.
Range “Hot” – Verify that no one is downrange. OK to load and fire.
Before going down range, all guns must:
a. be unloaded,
b. benched, and
c. action open (“OPEN CHAMBER” indicators installed, if available).
No firearm may be carried (with hands) while anyone is down range. It is permissible to carry an unloaded and action-opened firearm in a carrier (box, gun case, etc.)
No illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages are allowed on club property.
Scheduled range maintenance including grass cutting has priority over range practice.
Firearms shall be discharged only between the hours of 9:00 AM and Sunset.
When Skeet ranges are in operation, steel targets on the 300 yard range must be 50 yards downrange from the firing line.
